At Perfectemp, we’re constantly looking for the best way to keep your products cool. Our customer coolers are just one of the ways we do this.

Finding The Best Commercial Cooler

Whether it’s because you’re expanding your business or starting a new one, the decision to invest in a new commercial cooler is never one you should take lightly. While there are a lot of top-notch walk-in freezers and walk-in coolers on the market, finding the right one for your business can be a challenge.

Consider Tyler Refrigeration’s extensive array of commercial cooler choices. All models feature easily-replaced freezer door frames and threshold heaters, as well as heated air vents on all freezers. Perfectemp is proud to offer a range of reconditioned Tyler products. And while Tyler walk in coolers are among the best on the market, you need to find the commercial cooler that’s best for your market.

Arneg, Kysor, Hussman and More Perfectemp offers a broad range of custom coolers

Like nearly all refrigeration equipment, commercial coolers are chosen for qualities like capacity, energy savings and design. In choosing one, it’s best to first determine which of these qualities is most important to you.

(Of course, budget is always a concern as well, and if you’re unable to afford a new cooler, it’s simple enough to find “reconditioned” refrigeration equipment – gear that has been used, but is still in good shape. Resellers – like Perfectemp – maintain used commercial refrigerator devices in order to resell them. In this case, “used” doesn’t mean “poor quality.”)

Capacity. What are your space needs? Are you storing entire boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables, or crates of perishables? Are you absolutely sure your needs call for a walk-in cooler? Commercial coolers come in a huge range of sizes and capacities, so make absolutely sure of your space needs before you begin making calls to distributors.

Energy Efficiency. Make sure the commercial cooler you’re looking to buy won’t be too hard on your electric bill. Look at the insulation materials used in its construction, as these will affect the relationship between the cold air inside the cooler and the warm air outside. Most walk-in coolers use one of three types of insulation: expanded polystyrene, polyurethane and extruded polystyrene. Each has its own sets of pros and cons, so be sure to research thoroughly before making a decision.

Design. The way a commercial cooler looks is important, particularly if you’re using it for display purposes or hoping to sell its contents to your customers. Take a look at the cooler that you think will best advertise your product. But even if you’re not looking at a commercial cooler that’ll be seen by customers, design is still important. Walk-in coolers, for instance, have metal skins made of aluminum, stainless steel or Galvalume. Each of these offers a different set of benefits.
